Marketing Tips From Furniture, Lighting and Decor Magazine
What’s Next In Digital Marketing?
The new August issue of Furniture, Lighting and Decor magazine is out and this issue’s featured article is titled
White Spaces: Connecting Through Marketing Experiences. It’s full of great marketing tips for your businesses - don’t miss it!
I was interviewed for it by Furniture, Lighting and Decor’s Editor In Chief, Diane Falvey, along with several others. It’s filled with great insights re: what’s next in offline and digital marketing, including my own insights on metaverse activations.
I am so appreciative of Diane’s continuing interest in the metaverse as a new way for people to connect with each other, virtually, via a 3D immersive experience.
She’s way ahead of the crowd in understanding the way brands are interacting with digitally native consumers and interviewed me for an article just on the topic of the metaverse in the Dec. 2022 issue of Furniture, Lighting and Decor.
See that article by scrolling down in this post I wrote, summarizing my involvement so far with virtual reality, metaverse activations and AI.
I invite you to read Diane’s new article, which includes additional thoughts I’ve shared with her about other new ways you can market your products and services by clicking the link to the article in the current issue at the end of this post.
In addition to this feature article, excerpts from the discussion we had during our panel at Dallas Market’s Lightovation show in the Minka Lighting showroom about ways we’ve thrived in our businesses during difficult or changing times is also excerpted in this new issue and I think you will find the insights we all shared very helpful. [ The entire discussion can be listened to on FLD’s YouTube channel ]
I was invited to be on this panel by my friend, Robin Baron, who has a gorgeous licensed lighting collection with Minka which I wrote about here when it first debuted in January 2022.
[For all designer friends who might be reading this post, I interviewed Robin last year about her top tips for licensed collections and wrote this post summarizing my 5 top takeaways from our conversation. Don’t miss it if you’re interested in having your own licensed collections! ]
We were joined on this panel during the June 2022 Lightovation by our mutual good friend, Vice President of Trade Relations for Feizy Rugs, Michael Bauer. The panel was moderated by Diane and it was wonderful to see some of my/our great designer friends in the audience, as well as many others I had never met.
Two of the attendees who were at Lightovation for the first time - and who attended our talk - were interior designers Hong Anh Sievert, principal of Blossom Spaces in Overland Park, KS, and Marbe Briceno, principal of Marbe Designs in Los Angeles.
I snapped this picture of them right before the talk started. [ If you two see this post: thank you for taking your time to attend! ].
I can’t resist sharing this picture of Diane and Michael that I took after the panel discussion was over and in the Feizy Rugs showroom, because it shows you how wonderful and caring the relationships are that exist within the furniture and design industry.
Diane: thank you for all the coverage in your new August issue and Michael, thank you for being such a great supporter of the interior design industry and such a good friend to so many of us.
