TOP TIME SAVING TIP! ENTRANCE PROTOCOL FOR #KBIS2022
TOP TIME SAVING TIP FOR ENTERING #KBIS2022 EXHIBIT HALLS
I recently spoke to the show director for #KBIS2022, Jason McGraw, Group VP for Emerald Expositions.
Jason saw me make a comment in Veronika Eagleson’s KBI Facebook Group and he initiated the call with me.
I needed to find out how I was going to be able to get into the South Hall to set up for my presentation in the Design Milk x Modenus lounge before the 9 am start time, as the exhibit halls don’t up before 9 am.
I also needed to figure out how much time I was going to need to go through the Covid screening, and how that was going to work.
Jason has given me permission to share this information with all of you.
THE DETAILS FOR HOW TO SAVE TIME GETTING INTO #KBIS2022
COVID SCREENING PROTOCOL FOR ENTRANCE
There will be 10 COVID screening centers at separate points OUTSIDE the two concourse buildings.
There will be 2 lines at each of the 10 screening areas. One line for those that show their ClearPass, and one line for those that will need to show a recent test or their vax cards.
They are setting it up like airlines do. One fast line, one slower line.
GETTING YOUR REGISTRATION BADGE
Once you have cleared the screening areas outside the buildings, then you will go inside the lobby area of each concourse building - where the registration areas are - to get your badge. This is how it's always been.
GETTING INTO THE EXHIBIT HALLS WHEN THEY OPEN AT 9 AM.
You won't be able to get into the actual exhibit halls inside the buildings sooner than 9 am, unless you are an exhibitor but you can hang out in the lobby areas..which are enormous. There's lots of mingling and picture taking that can happen there.
IMPORTANT!
If you are arriving on Monday:
From 12 pm - 11 pm on Monday, the COVID screening centers will be set up at the 10 checkpoints outside the buildings. You can go at any time between those hours on Monday and get cleared for Covid and get a wristband which you can wear for the rest of the show.
You will still have to show the wristband every morning, outside, in the *fast lane* to get into the show.
You can also pick up your badges.
If you are arriving on Tuesday:
The COVID screening centers at the 10 different points open at 6:30 am. After you get screened to go into the building, then you can get your registration badge, and then you can get into the exhibit halls when they open at 9 am.
TIME SAVING MAPS
I don’t know about you, but I need to study maps before I attend a major tradeshow so I have a visual in mind of where I’m going.
This map of the exhibit spaces in the SOUTH Hall, Level 1, in the North/South Concourse building is on the KBIS mobile app - a great download if you haven’t done it yet [ the link to it is at the end of this post].
The red arrow points to space 18, where I will be speaking.
This is a larger map of both Concourse buildings that’s on the mobile app.
[Note: This isometric overview map is the direct opposite of the isometric overview map on the main KBIS website, so look carefully if you are referencing both maps. ]
I created the map below from the main KBIS website.
I can see things easier with this map, but the map on the mobile app lets you easily see where the transportation is, including taxis and UBER - something really important to know after a long day - when unnecessary steps to get to transportation will not be welcomed by your body.
Either way, I hope these maps help you maximize your time.
I wrote this post last week, with more info about what I will be attending at #KBIS2022 and it contains even more maps to help you:

Lastly today, I want to thank all of you who have signed up to see my presentation on Wed. at 9:15 am and the conversation I am having with Jaime and Kayte at 10:30 am on Thursday.
I know your time is precious, so thank you for wanting to spend some of your time with me/with us.
I cannot wait to see so many friends I haven’t seen in real life for 2+ years - in person again!
A very special last shout out to my friend, Veronika Eagleson and her daughter/right hand woman, Florence Von Pelet, and to Jaime Derringer, founder of Design Milk, for making this venue possible, and to my session sponsor, Signature Kitchen Suites aka as @sksappliances on Instagram.
I look forward to seeing everyone very soon and if this post has been helpful to you, please consider sharing it with others.
Thank you!
